Maureen McFarland Iqbal, MSW, LICSW
School-Based Therapist
Maureen is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Minnesota and has been working with
children and families since 1998. She received her Master’s in Social Work from Boston University.
Throughout her career, Maureen has worked in a variety of settings including: in-home family therapy,
domestic adoption, adolescent crisis center and is currently working in a school-based setting. Maureen
is especially interested in working with elementary school-aged children and their families. She has a
strengths-based and eclectic approach to her work, with a particular interest in play therapy and
mindfulness-based techniques. Areas of professional interest include: anxiety, depression, adjustment
issues, self-esteem, trauma and self-regulation. Developing trusting, warm and respectful relationships
is at the core of Maureen’s work with children and families.
Maureen enjoys traveling with her family, reading, walking and yoga.
