Cultural Broker

Bernarda Torres is completing her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Minnesota. She is interested in the way culture influences identities and the barriers that prevent access to mental well-being resources. In the future, Bernarda hopes to help others as a licensed mental health practitioner, focusing on historically marginalized groups. She believes in the positive impact that comes from providing mentorship to adolescents experiencing trauma and stressors after being uprooted from their homes. Her goal is to facilitate communication across cultures and contribute to a more effective and equitable treatment of youths.
