School-based Therapist

Maria Lewis is a School-based Therapist at Watercourse Counseling. She graduated from Rutgers University in Newark, NJ, with her master’s in clinical social work and certificate in Promoting Child and Adolescent Well-Being. Maria has worked with youth between the ages of 5 and 18 in both school and home settings. She believes collaboration with parents and school staff is essential to fostering each child’s unique strengths. Her approach integrates evidence-based therapeutic techniques while remaining mindful of cultural identities and the influence of social environments. Her goal is to foster positive self-esteem and resilience in students, empowering them to realize their full potential. Maria strives to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where students can flourish and build confidence in their abilities.
