Sarah Washington is the parent of four children and the guardian of one of her adult daughters. She is the grandparent of 3 (soon to be 4) wonderful grandchildren, and is a hostess with the most! She has been an advocate for her own family and many others throughout her career, specializing in special education and mental health support. Ms. Washington serves many roles within Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS), including the District Mental Health Team, the Special-Education Early Childhood SLT, Co-Chair of the Special Education Advisory Council, and as a Parent Evaluator. She has served on the Hennepin County Parent Catalyst Leadership Group and their School-Based Mental Health Group since 2012. She is experienced with crisis services and has served on the Metro Children’s Crisis Response (MetrCCS) Leadership Team since 2013.
