Cultural Broker
Bilingual English-Spanish
Watercourse Counseling Center is a nonprofit agency that strengthens our community by supporting people in the journey toward emotional well-being. We strive to improve community wellness by:
- creating equitable access to mental health services
- bringing services into the community
- building partnerships to address community issues impacted by mental health
- mentoring mental health trainees in a community mental health model
We currently provide mental health services in school-based clinics at 16 schools in Minneapolis and are looking for a cultural broker to join a diverse, multilingual team of dedicated providers.
Our Story
At the time of our founding, Watercourse stretched traditional definitions of mental health service delivery. We were formed for the specific purpose of developing innovative programs that address the full continuum of mental health needs. Our overarching philosophy is grounded in equitable access to resources that support wellness for individuals and the community. We believe that an individual’s health is impacted by the health of their community and that the health of the community is impacted by individuals’ health. We choose to center this work in Minneapolis with the full understanding that there is a lack of culturally-based mental health resources within the city, and we remain committed to making a difference in the lives of those who have been marginalized and underserved. We continue to be guided by these beliefs, even after 20+ years of service.
