OUR STORY & OUR TEAM

Our Story

The original vision of the four founders of The Mental Health Collective, now Watercourse Counseling, was to utilize our skills as mental health providers for innovative program development that addressed the continuum of mental health needs for both prevention and intervention and stretched traditional definitions of mental health service delivery. We believe that individual health is impacted by the health of the community and that individuals can contribute greatly to improving community health. Our guiding philosophy continues to emphasize prevention and partnership as a means to support equitable access to resources that support wellness.

Equity Statement and Action Plan on Social Justice

Watercourse acknowledges that we are operating within a system of racial oppression rooted deeply in white supremacy. However, we know that acknowledgments are not enough, and we know that more work needs to be done to end racism. We are committed to actively work on dismantling systemic racism so that all individuals can live fully and freely within our community. Our commitment can only be realized through action.

We work hard to ensure our staff is engaged in an inclusive, equitable, and supportive workplace. Staff is provided with the resources and training opportunities that help set high-quality staff, where internship and training programs add value and cultural breadth to mental health workforce development efforts.

Our staff are licensed therapists or supervised clinical practitioners with educational backgrounds in Counseling Psychology, Family Therapy, or Social Work. We have bilingual staff, cultural brokers, and interpreter services available as needed. Click each staff member to learn more about them.
